We all love the outdoors, whether it’s walking the dog around the local common or hiking up a peak in a national park. But is there anything that could make those outings even more enjoyable? And how can the Ramblers help make it happen?
Are you concerned about climate change, pollution, or the loss of wildlife and green space? Or perhaps you think the big issue is encouraging people from all ages and backgrounds to be active outdoors?
We’ve started a big conversation with people all over the country to help us decide what we should be doing for everyone over the next ten years.
Over the coming months, we’ll be in gear shops, pubs and parks, on hilltops, paths and beaches, talking to everyone who likes to get outdoors.
Walking regularly can help you stay healthy and live longer, keep happy, enjoy time with friends and family, learn more about your local area, meet other people, make new friends and look after the environment. And almost everyone can do it, anywhere and at any time, for free.
The Ramblers works to promote walking for pleasure, health, leisure and transport to everyone, of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, in towns and cities as well as in the countryside. We want Britain to be a place where people choose to go walking, contributing to their health and well being and supporting a more sustainable way of life.
We offer practical support to get people walking, and to sustain and increase the amount of walking they do, in a variety of ways.
The Ramblers delivers a range of exciting and successful practical projects across England, Scotland and Wales aimed at getting more people of all ages walking more often for health, transport and pleasure, in towns and cities as well as in the countryside.

An introduction to Ramblers work as Britain's foremost provider of organised led walks.
The Ramblers makes it easy everyone to discover the outdoors on foot. One of the ways we do this is by researching and promoting walking routes that make the best of the country’s varied countryside, historic towns and cities, nature and heritage.
