Marches Housing Association

Marches Housing Association manages around 3000 homes in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and the Forest of Dean. We work in partnership with local authorities, organisations and residents to create safe, sustainable communities.

We provide:

  • Homes to rent - We provide a range of accommodation from flats to large family houses, for people on low incomes or needing supported housing.
  • Shared ownership - Arrangements which allow buyers to buy a percentage of their home and pay rent on the rest.
  • Special projects - We carry out a range of shared housing projects, managed by specialist management agencies. Each scheme is designed to meet the needs of a particular client group.

The Association joined the Jephson Housing Association Group as a subsidiary in May 1996.

What is available for people over 55?

Marches has a number of options available to those over 55 or just needing a little more help or security in their home. Here is what we offer:

SHELTERED

We have 8 sheltered housing schemes for those over 60 wishing to maintain an independent way of life in a secure and friendly environment with some care and support. These self contained rented homes have integrated pull cord care alarm systems and are centred around communal day rooms and other facilities.

In these properties residents are able to live independently and receive the support they require. This could include regular visits by our staff or other agencies.

We also have a scheme, Norfolk House, Leominster, where in conjunction with Herefordshire Council support is provided for frail elderly residents.

DESIGNATED

We have a number of rented flats and bungalows which are available for those over 55 who wish to live independently and do not need residential care or a nursing home environment. In these properties support is available where required, from our staff, our 24 hour care alarm facility and from other agencies.

SUPPORTED

Working in partnership with Herefordshire Council we have developed a variety of supported living homes that provide independent tenancies for people with special needs.

A Housing Support charge will be made where appropriate based on individual needs and support requirements. Our staff will be able to tell you what this is and what payment assistance is available.
