Almy & Thomas is a family firm of solicitors which was first established back in 1920.
We have a long history of advising generations of families in and around Torquay, Torbay and South Devon and over the years we have established ourselves as a friendly and highly efficient firm with a very reasonable charge out rate.

The Almy & Thomas Team

We have a dynamic and experienced team at Almy & Thomas...

Owen Evans, Alan Parsons and Paul Dentith are all partners in the practice. Owen Evans operates in a number of areas of legal work, but principally he is involved in divorce and accident claims, while Alan and Paul are both solely involved in criminal work.

Owen Evans' Secretary is Caroline Northcott who has many years experience in legal fields. Alan Parsons' secretary is Sally Harlock and Stephanie Teece is secretary to Paul Dentith.

Niall Brooks is also a criminal solicitor who specialises in prison law. He is an Accredited Representative and like Alan Parsons and Paul Dentith, he is also a Duty Solicitor. Niall's secretary is Leanne Reade.

Kirsty Neill is a Graduate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives working alongside Niall Brooks in the prison law department. Kirsty is currently studying to become a Police Station Representative.

Anthony Gilles is a Chartered Legal Executive Advocate who works alongside Alan Parsons and Paul Dentith in the Criminal Department at Almy & Thomas. Anthony attends the Magistrates Court, and as an Accredited Representative he also attends the Police Station. His secretary is Linda Forbes.

Neil Crapper is a Managing Clerk and works alongside Owen Evans and Flis Cotton. Neil undertakes all civil litigation work, matrimonial matters, employment disputes and medical negligence cases. He has nearly 40 years experience in the legal profession and is assisted by his secretary Lynda Johnson.

Yvonne Kellow is a Chartered Legal Executive who heads the conveyancing team, along with her secretary Sue Coles. Yvonne has many years experience in the Torbay area, dealing with both residential and commercial conveyancing.

Lin Cane is a conveyancing assistant and she works with her secretary, Kim Miller, who has been with the practice most of her working life.

Sophie Northcott is our probate clerk, she prepares Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and also deals with estates. She was formerly a legal cashier and she is now qualified in various areas of probate work.

Flis Cotton, a Chartered Legal Executive is qualified to undertake personal injury work, debt recovery and other civil litigation.

Brian David is our legal cashier and Agnieszka Pilch is our receptionist.
